How to know it's really us
Some dispatch operations quote "$19" on the phone, then add "labor" and "security lock" charges at the door. Before anyone drives, ask whether the company is licensed and insured, for a firm price on the phone, and for the name of the technician coming.

Locked out of your house
Most house lockouts open without damage. We pick or bypass the lock, and it works as before. That covers the builder-grade deadbolts in most Carlsbad tracts.
Drilling is rare. It is for a lock that failed inside, or a high-security cylinder built to resist picking. If it comes to that, we say so and quote the new lock first.
Keys lost in the sand near Tamarack State Beach or along the Ponto seawall? Whoever finds them may find your door. Lost your keys? Rekey after we get you in, and the old keys stop working.
Car lockouts in Carlsbad
We open cars, trucks and SUVs with the keys locked inside. Keys on the seat, in the trunk, or with the engine running.
We do not cut car keys or program fobs. If the key is gone for good, you need a dealer or an automotive key specialist. We tell you that on the phone, before anyone drives.
Common spots: the South Carlsbad State Beach lots, and hotel and LEGOLAND parking near Legoland Drive and Cannon Road. In a rental car? Check the agreement; some companies want their roadside line called first.

Office and storefront lockouts
We open suites, storefronts and back doors for people authorized to be there. That means the owner, a manager on the lease, or someone the property manager confirms. Office lockouts run $110–$185.
Typical calls: business-park suites off Palomar Airport Road, and Village shops and restaurants on State Street and Carlsbad Village Drive after the last key went home.
Smart lock dead battery? Try these first
A dead smart lock often opens without a locksmith. Try these three things before you call.
- 9V jump. Many keypad deadbolts have two contacts under the outside keypad. Hold a 9-volt battery to them and enter your code. That powers one unlock.
- Key override. Most keypads hide a keyed cylinder under a cover. A backup key in a drawer or with a neighbor gets you in.
- Another door. The garage keypad and the door from the garage are often the easiest route.

We check ID at the door to protect you
We check ID on every lockout. It protects you: nobody gets into your home or car just by calling a locksmith with a story.
If we cannot confirm you live there or own it, we stop. That rule is there for the day someone tries it on your door.
Emergency locksmith after hours
Lockouts are covered after closing until 10 PM, and the owner answers. Regular hours are Mon–Sat 7 AM–7 PM · Sun 8 AM–5 PM.
After closing time the same number rings the owner directly until 10 PM for lockouts only. No overnight service. The after-hours fee is $60, added to the lockout rate and quoted on the call.
Drive times vary. The Village to east La Costa near Rancho Santa Fe Road can take 20 minutes or more at rush hour. The window we give you accounts for it.

How long until you arrive?
Typically 20 to 40 minutes in most of Carlsbad during business hours. It depends on where the van is and on traffic along El Camino Real. We give you a real window on the phone and text you if it changes.
What will I pay for a lockout?
Home lockouts are $95–$165, car lockouts $85–$150, and office or storefront lockouts $110–$185. Those ranges include the trip; there is no separate service call on a lockout. After closing, a $60 after-hours fee is added. We quote the fee on the phone before we drive, and that is what you pay. If we cannot open it without drilling and you decline the drilling, you pay only the $69 service call.
Will you damage the door?
Almost never. Most lockouts open without damage and the lock works normally afterward. Drilling is for failed locks and some high-security cylinders, and if it comes to that we tell you first and quote the replacement lock before we start.
What if my ID is locked inside?
We open the door, then you show ID, a lease or a utility bill with that address before you go in. For a car, the registration in the glove box works. If we cannot confirm you live there or own it, we stop.
